Say hello to Millie Charlton, SEO Executive

It’s been a busy quarter here at Climb & Conquer, with unprecedented growth for our agency. Not only have we had stratospheric client wins and retention (see more in our latest Monthly Peaks!), but our team has grown once again! We’ve welcomed 4 new talented folk to the team, one of whom is Millie Charlton, SEO Executive.

Millie lives in Cornwall and holds a First-Class Honours degree from the University of Brighton.

We wanted to find out a little more about our newest addition to the SEO team, so we caught up over a virtual coffee to get the scoop.

Let’s get into it…

Give us a whistlestop tour of your career journey to date:

My career started off in a completely different direction! I originally studied Criminology and pursued a path in Law. Although it was a valuable experience, I soon realised it wasn’t where my true passion lay. Over the past few years, I made a conscious decision to pivot towards a career that felt more aligned with my interests and strengths. I began by taking online marketing courses and actively networking within the industry to build my knowledge and connections.

I’ve always had a genuine love for the world of marketing and being involved within the online space. It’s something that’s always excited me creatively and strategically, so I’m incredibly grateful to have Climb and Conquer as part of my journey into a career I truly love. It’s been such a refreshing and rewarding shift, and I’m excited for what’s to come.

Describe briefly a typical day in the life of your role:

I’m currently in my third week at Climb and Conquer, and so far, a typical day in my role has been filled with lots of learning, development, and hands-on experience. I’ve been lucky enough to receive training and support from the kindest, most talented team, which has made settling in an easy and positive experience.

Even in these early weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to work with clients during their initial stages, which has given me a great insight into the full process and allowed me to start building meaningful relationships from the outset. It’s been really valuable to see how everything comes together, and I’m excited to keep growing and contributing more as I continue on this journey.

What made you want to join Climb & Conquer?

What really drew me to Climb & Conquer was the combination of flexibility and culture. Having the freedom to work from home is a real game-changer as it allows for a much better work-life balance and helps me stay focused and productive. But beyond that, the team is full of kind, supportive, and genuinely great individuals, which makes the day-to-day experience enjoyable and motivating.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

What I enjoy most about my role is the variety and creativity it brings. The clients we work with are so diverse, it gives us the freedom to think creatively and approach each project with fresh ideas. On top of that, being surrounded by such a supportive and talented team makes all the difference.

And what’s the most challenging part?

The most challenging part so far has been getting to grips with some of the more Technical SEO fixes. It’s an area that’s a bit outside my comfort zone right now, but I see it as a great opportunity for growth. I know it’s something I’ll build on over time, and I’m already learning a lot with the help of the expert team.

What’s your hot take on Digital Marketing for 2025?

My hot take on digital marketing for 2025 is that authenticity and human connection will matter more than ever. As AI continues to evolve, the brands that will stand out are those that balance tech with genuine, relatable, human-centric content.

If you could give one piece of advice to anyone looking to get into your field, what would it be?

Put all your creative skills to use and don’t be afraid to really put yourself out there. Whether it’s sharing your ideas, building a personal brand, or getting involved in projects, confidence and visibility go a long way!

Our growth is showing no signs of slowing down, and we’re looking for ambitious, dedicated people to join us. If you’re looking for a Remote SEO or Remote PPC role, click the text links to find out more and apply today.
