Meet our PPC Performance Manager, Blanaid May

Blanaid joined the company as our very first Trainee PPC Executive and rapidly progressed through the ranks into our PPC Performance Manager.

Starting from learning the ropes herself, Blanaid now manages a team of 2 trainees and looks after over £500,000/mo in media spend. Blanaid’s team have created some wonderful results for clients and constantly challenges the way we work to get better outcomes; from how we report through to carefully assessing the profitability of accounts.

We sat down over a virtual cuppa and found out a little bit more about her…

What is your favourite part of PPC?

I love it when you start to optimise campaigns and tweak them in ways that pay off massively in terms of return on ad spend, click-through rate, or any metric that helps contribute to the overall success of the campaign. And then of course sharing the news with clients.

What is your LEAST favourite part of PPC? We’ve all got one!

Easy – Google Analytics 4. I don’t know how it was introduced as an upgrade from Universal Analytics!

What is your favourite thing about working remotely?

I love the freedom of not having to commute every day and getting to speed my mornings more productively by going to the gym or getting a load of washing on. Working remotely means I get to spend more time with my dog too!

I think Archie would really miss me if I had to work in an office full time, and wasn’t at home to give him treats on demand.

If you could work with any client in the world, who would it be and why?

I would love to work with Gymshark. I think they have an incredible story about how they started in Ben Francis’ living room whilst he was working at Pizza Hut. From those humble beginnings to where they are today is crazy! I also wouldn’t say no to working with Nintendo either.

If Climb & Conquer had a physical office, who do you think would be talking to everyone the most?

That’s a tough one, it has to be between Ellen and Victor.

What’s a weird fact about you that not many people know?

I love working on businesses, marketing and reading up on the latest side hustles, but then the other side of me loves playing Pokemon on my Nintendo switch and watching cartoons.

What food do you think is overrated and overhyped?

Nando’s. It is nice but not as good as everyone makes it out to be.

If you could have one superpower what would it be?

Being able to transport myself to a hot country whenever I like would be great. Maybe being able to hear what people are thinking too, but that might end up awful!

What does your ideal day look like?

Waking up early then taking Archie out for a walk in the sunshine. When I get home from the walk I would eat a roast dinner because why not? I’d spend the day with my partner and listen to some records in the back garden and have lots of laughs, all the while checking the ads manager to see how great our campaigns are doing!
