Meet Dany Elsafin, the latest member to join the Climb & Conquer crew, our resident Aussie and digital nomad.
Yes, that’s right, Dany is one of those insanely lucky people travelling the world whilst working from his laptop, seeing the places he’s always wanted to and not sacrificing his career in the process.
Thankfully, as a fully remote agency, our setup is perfect for someone like Dany, and he officially joined the team in November 2024.
We sat down with Dany for a virtual cuppa to get the scoop on his career so far and experience with Climb & Conquer…
Give us a whistlestop tour of your career journey to date:
I’ve spent over a decade working in sales, account management, and business development.
Along the way, I found a real passion for tech, startups, and marketing. Starting an e-commerce business opened my eyes to the world of SEO, and now I’m all about it. My experience gives me a unique perspective on how sales and marketing work together, and I’m excited to bring that insight to the table.
Describe a typical day in the life of your role:
I kick off my day bright and early with some exercise and a walk with the dogs to soak up the morning energy. Then, I dive into work, tackling technical tasks first to get the gears turning. After that, it’s all about analysis and content creation. I save the creative stuff for later when I’m feeling inspired. Once I’ve wrapped up client work, I spend some time diving into the latest industry trends and setting myself up for tomorrow’s challenges. It’s all about balancing the structure with the creative, and I love it!
What made you want to join Climb & Conquer?
What drew me to Climb and Conquer was the chance to be part of a small, dynamic team where everyone’s input truly matters. Being fully remote gives me the freedom to work from anywhere, fueling my creativity and passion.
I have a unique lifestyle that allows me to move around freely and explore with my partner while growing my career and expertise in SEO and digital marketing. If you had asked me 2 years ago where I would be, I would not have expected to be living such a free life. A few years ago I decided to apply a minimalist approach to my life and sold most of my belongings and have never been happier. I feel like I could write a book about my life, but we can maybe save that for the next blog!
I also love that we each manage our own set of clients, allowing us to really dive deep and understand their businesses.
For someone passionate about business, sales, and marketing, it’s a joy to grow alongside these companies and build solid client relationships. Climb and Conquer’s culture of growth – with management always encouraging us to learn and develop as SEOs – makes it an honour to be part of such a passionate, rapidly growing team. It is incredibly rewarding to grow alongside the company and build strong client relationships.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Every day is an adventure! As an SEO, no two days are the same. I’m always diving into new content and learning something fresh. Plus, working with a mix of startups, small businesses, and major players keeps things exciting and far from repetitive. It’s like a new challenge every day, and I love that it keeps me on my toes and constantly growing.
And what’s the most challenging part?
The most challenging part of my role is that my passion for business can sometimes lead me to dive a bit too deep. I can get really absorbed in understanding every detail about a client’s industry, striving to create the most impactful content and strategies. This means I sometimes have to remind myself to take a step back and not get too carried away.
But hey, it’s all part of the process of making sure we deliver the best possible results.
What’s your hot take on Digital Marketing for 2025?
While AI’s all the rage in digital marketing these days, I think there’s still going to be a big appetite for good old-fashioned creativity and human touch. Sure, AI’s cool and all, but there’s something special about real human creativity that machines simply can’t replicate. I reckon that as everything gets more AI-driven, there will be a real hunger for content that feels genuine and original. It’s only a matter of time before people and search engines start craving that authentic human vibe again.
If you could give one piece of advice to anyone looking to get into your field, what would it be?
If you’re just starting out, here’s my biggest piece of advice: be ready to learn, grow, and adapt every single day.
This industry is always evolving, and each client brings new challenges. You can’t just jump in and start writing content or throwing out SEO strategies. To really succeed, you need to understand how a business works, the sales funnel, and how the audience thinks.
It’s not just about knowing SEO basics; it’s about approaching every day with a mindset of continuous learning. That’s how you’ll thrive in SEO!
